Bear in mind that none of the posted websites is a peer-reviewed journal and as such is not considered a good source of scientific knowledge. Anyone interested in that sort of stuff I would recommend reading 'Bad Science' by Ben Goldacre. Really good stuff on how to read 'scientific' articles for non-scientists.
For example. In one of the linked articles there is a quote as follows: 'red meat can cause conolo-rectal cancer' or something of that sort. BUT - nowhere in the article does it say HOW or WHY it might cause the cancer. Maybe it is because people who eat more red meat tend to eat more protein, leading to constipaction, leading to cancer. So not much to do with red meat as such, but you're almost quitting beef altogether. This is a very common mistake - take two things that seem to be connected and make one the cause of the other. The most famous one would be the MMR hoax.

Anyway - what I really wanted to say is - take some serious precaution and filter things through when reading information from secondary (or even tertiary) sources and try to find the primary articles, or at least find out who the so called 'experts' are.

But of course! I didn't mean to say the articles I quoted are perfectly reliable - only that if I have a choice between the preacher and articles like these, I prefer the latter. At least, they do not seem to be influenced by any particular ideology, but look rather like an attempt at presenting some of the facts that are known to the relevant field of science.

That's right :) It's always safer to say 'seem' - just in case ;)
